So I should probably explain this whole artsy fartsy kick thing a little more clearly. Over the course of just a day I’ve already gotten a few questions asking me to clarify what the balls I have planned so I figured it was probably in everyone’s best interest to just answer all of these burning (or maybe just lukewarm) questions.
I’m just going to do this as a Q&A format. Lazy? Maybe a little. Whatever. Deal with it, darling.
1) What exactly are you doing?
- For the sake of my sanity/mental acuity/personal growth/etc., etc. I am going to engage with all elements of “the arts” (music, dance, photo, sculpture, performance art, you name it) in ways that I previously have not. The things I already know, I will delve deeper into. The things I don’t know, I’ll learn more about. I’ll ask questions. I’ll read some things. I’ll make things. I’ll work on adding more haptic approaches to my creativity even if I don’t have the slightest idea what I’m doing. After I do all these things I’ll share them with you in a hopefully vaguely interesting way.
2) Um, that’s great and all but why exactly are you doing this?
- Mental sanity. I swear to your deity my brain is becoming mush. This will be fun and new and will hopefully keep me from becoming a crazy person. A crazy person drinking alone on your couch.
3) Are you doing something new everyday?
- Well, hopefully. If not everyday at least 4x a week. I promise I’ll only bombard you with whatever can be turned into something pithy and fun. The rest of the time I’ll be throwing in some fun facts, info, ideas, event information, etc. Don’t worry, it’s not all about me, I really do like the idea of actually sharing real things with you.
4) How long do you think you can keep this up?
- I’m aiming for 6 months. So…tag along in the meantime!
5) Wait one goshdarn second! One more question: did you really go to a psychic?
- Yes. I did. In broad daylight. Dead sober. Some of it seemed a little bogus but she is actually pretty cool and pretty spot on with some things. I can give you her address if you want, which, c’mon, I know you do.
